  • Ages 12 and up.

  • Many of my clients have struggled with ongoing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, trauma, grief, and loss. I also work with young people struggling with issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and self- or family acceptance.

  • Video sessions take place through a secure HIPAA-compliant platform. Online therapy offers many perks including more flexibility with scheduling, saving time/money needed for transportation, and allowing clients to engage in meaningful work from the comfort of their homes.

  • Generally I hold sessions from Monday-Thursday between 12pm-6pm. Sessions start on the hour.

  • All sessions are about 50 minutes long.

  • At the start of counseling, it is usually best to meet on a weekly basis. As you begin feeling better, you can move to biweekly sessions and then monthly sessions.

  • It depends. Some people need just a few sessions to work through a specific problem. Others attend therapy for months or even years. I’ll work with you to create a plan to help you meet your goals. Remember that therapy is always voluntary. You can stop, pause, or change therapists whenever you need to.

  • It is important for your teen to have privacy during sessions and to develop a trusted and confidential relationship with the counselor. However, I will keep you updated on your teen’s progress toward treatment goals within the confidentiality framework which we will discuss at the start of counseling. When appropriate, I may ask you to participate in joint sessions with your teen.

  • Yes. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic framework that helps people understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and actions. With all clients, I consider the best therapeutic approaches for their specific goals.

  • No. I offer talk therapy. I am happy to assist my clients with finding a medication prescriber when needed. Medication is prescribed by psychiatrists and some nurse practitioners.

  • Yes, and I am experienced in working with individuals struggling with issues related to sexuality and gender.
